Youth Co-ed baseball and t-ball season starts soon - registration is open now

The crack of the bat, the smell of leather and the thrill of the umpire’s call of “play ball” are returning to Daytona Beach.

Registration is underway for co-ed youth baseball and t-ball leagues. The leagues, hosted by the City of Daytona Beach, are open to children as young as four years old up to 12 years old.  Registration ends March 8 and the season runs from March 11 to April 4. The cost is $40 and includes a team uniform and hat. (Children are required to have their own glove and cleats.)

The program, in its second season after a several-year hiatus, welcomes all skill levels with a goal of having fun while coaching baseball fundamentals, instilling discipline, gaining self-confidence and learning about teamwork.

There is a parents’ meeting on Wednesday, March 6 at 6 p.m. at Bethune Point Park.

In addition to the upcoming league play, the city is hosting free t-ball and baseball clinics on the following dates:

Monday, February 18

Tuesday, February 19

Wednesday, February 20

Thursday, February 21

Friday, February 22

4-6 years old

7-8 years old

9-10 years old

11-12 years old

All clinics begin at 5:30 p.m. and will be at the Bethune Point Park, 11 East Bellevue Avenue in Daytona Beach. Parents are required to sign a waiver for each participating child.

The Daytona Tortugas and the Daytona Beach Police Department have joined the city in sponsoring this league.
