Registration is open for Daytona Beach summer camps

The City of Daytona Beach has a great program for parents who are looking for creative ways to keep their children busy, engaged and off the couch during the summer break. Registration is now open for the city’s popular summer recreational program for children ages 5 to 16 years old. There are four sites in Daytona Beach for the summer camps:

  • Midtown Community Center, 925 George Engram Blvd. 
  • Sunnyland Park, 825 Washington St.
  • YSG Community Center, 1000 Vine St.
  • Ortona Playground, 1206 N. Halifax Ave.

The nine-week program is from June 3 to Aug. 2 and includes breakfast and lunch, sports, crafts, games and weekly parties. Youth also will go on field trips to many places including movie theaters, Daytona Lagoon, Seaworld, Skate & Shake and DeLeon Springs State Park. The program is from 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Monday through Friday. The cost is $270 per child, plus a $25 registration fee. A weekly payment plan of $30 per week is available. Registrations are accepted from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday at the Leisure Services office (Room 165) at City Hall, which is at 301 S.
