Gang Hotline Information
Everyone has a right to live in a safe neighborhood. The presence of gangs is associated with threats such as assault and battery, burglary and retail crimes, illicit drug sales, illegal weapons possession and vandalism. One-step in eradicating this problem is to report crimes and suspicious criminal behavior. If gang-related activities go unchecked, gangs are free to terrorize individuals and communities.

In order to address the issue of gangs, the Daytona Beach Police Department introduced an anonymous Gang Tip Hotline (386)671-5270 for citizens wishing to provide anonymous crime tips related to gangs, gang members and/or gang activity. Again, this service is completely anonymous.

The Gang Tip Hotline is a message service only and not for reporting ongoing emergency information. For information regarding crimes in progress or emergency situations, callers should dial 9-1-1.

Persons with information may also text “CRIMES” (274637) with a cell phone or provide tips through DBPD's website. When using a cell phone, all messages should begin with “DBTIPS.”

Never attempt to confront a gang, or even tell gang members to leave the neighborhood. You could be seriously injured or even killed.

In addition to the Gang Hotline, this educational brochure addresses some of the questions regarding gangs and gang activity.
