I don’t see the job that I’m interested in today. Does the City have more career opportunities?
You can only apply for today’s job listings; however, you are encouraged to fill out a job interest card with the City of Daytona Beach. This feature provides you with the opportunity to select job classifications that interest you, which will generate automatic emails when a new position becomes available.
The position I am applying for only accepts online applications. Does the City offer internet access to the public?
Free internet access is available for you to apply for City positions. Please visit us at City Hall, Human Resources, room 158, 301 S. Ridgewood Avenue in Daytona Beach, Monday through Friday, between the hours of 8 a.m. and 4 p.m.
The online application system asks for an email address, how do I get one?
Free email services are available by numerous service providers such as Excite, GMail (Google), Hotmail, Rocketmail and Yahoo.

Can more than one person use the login?
No. The login is assigned to one person and should not be shared.
I was filling out my application and I lost all of my information. What happened?
You may have used the ‘Back’ button (located on your toolbar) which when used removes all data. To avoid losing your information save it periodically.
What do I need to submit with my employment application when applying for a job?
You need to submit verification of experience and education; letter(s) from current or former employer(s) which must include where you are/were employed, your title and duties, dates of employment and the name and title of the person signing the letter, on company/agency letterhead and a copy of your diploma, degree or transcripts.
Verification of experience and education should meet or exceed the requirements listed in the Job Posting.
What if I want to apply for Firefighter of Police Officer? Do you require additional information?
Yes
Firefighter Candidates: You must possess a valid Florida Driver’s License and submit a copy of your State of Florida Firefighter Standards Council Certificate of Compliance, (which can be obtained through the Bureau of Fire Standards and Training, 11655 N.W. Gainesville Road, Ocala, FL 34482-1486, (352) 369-2800 or www.fldfs.com/sfm, EMT Certification issued by the State of Florida, Health Care Provider level CPR Certification, Emergency Vehicle Operations Course Certification, High School diploma or equivalent and/or College Diploma, and Military Discharge (DD214) if applicable. Police Officer Candidates: You must possess a valid Florida Driver’s License and submit a copy of your Florida Department of Law Enforcement Certification of Compliance and/or Completion and passing test score for the "Florida Officers Certification Examination" (Certificates of completion may be obtained through most Florida community colleges; locally at Daytona State College 386/506-3450), and High School Diploma or equivalent and/or College Diploma. How do I know that the City has successfully received my online application?
After you have submitted your online application, you will see a confirmation that is has been received under Application Status.
After I submit my application, what happens next?
Your application will be reviewed by a Human Resources representative to see if your qualifications meet those posted for that position. If you meet the minimum qualifications, you will be considered eligible and your information will be forwarded to the appropriate hiring authority/department.
How long is my application active?
Applications remain active for one year. After one year, we ask that you reapply for the position once it is posted.
Do I have to complete an application for every position?
Your personal application information will be stored but you will have to “Apply” for each separate job title.
How long does my name stay on the list of eligible candidates?
External (non-City of Daytona Beach employee) applicants stay on the list of eligible candidates for one year from the date of eligibility. City of Daytona Beach employee applicants stay on the list of eligible candidates for two years from the date of eligibility.
How do I check the status of my application?
You may check the status of your application at any time by logging on to your user account and clicking on “Application Status.”
Can I add/change information on my application after it is submitted?
No, once you submit an application, you cannot make any changes. However, you may update your contact information (see next question).
How do I change my contact information?
Log on to your User Account. Click on the ‘Edit’ button next to a saved application. Once the application is open on the screen, click on the ‘Edit Contact Information’ link; make changes and save the application. When you apply for another position, your information will be updated.
If you need to update your contact information on an application that has already been submitted please send an email to LossL@codb.us with the updated information.

What happens after I qualify for a position?
If your qualifications meet those posted for the position, your information is sent to the hiring authority/department for further review.
What steps can I take if I am notified that I do not qualify for a position and I believe I do?
We encourage you to visit us at City Hall, Human Resources, room 158, 301 S. Ridgewood Avenue in Daytona Beach, Monday through Friday, between the hours of 8 a.m. and 4 p.m. to discuss your application and any questions you may have. We will provide you with the details of the review/analysis of your application and answer any questions that you may have.
