It shall be unlawful for the owner of any animal or fowl to allow or permit the same to run or to be at large within the city of Daytona Beach.
 
Cruelty to animals, Sec. 14-14  Fine $253.00
Whoever inflicts unnecessary cruelty upon any animal, or rides, drives or works it when sick or unfit for work; whoever overdrives, overloads, drives when overloaded, overworks, tortures, torments, deprives of necessary food, cruelly or unmercifully beats or whips any animal or fails to provide it with proper food, drink, shelter and protection from weather, shall be deemed guilty of a misdemeanor. 
 
Running at Large-Prohibited, Sec. 14-11 Fine $100.00
It shall be unlawful for any person who owns or keeps a dog to permit such dog to run or be at large within the city. (a)
All persons owning or having custody of dogs shall shall keep these animals secure at all times by a leash not more than eight (8) feet in length when any dog is not o the premises of the person owning the same or responsible for its custody. (b)
 
License Required, Sec. 14-16  Fine $100.00
No person shall own, keep or harbor any do or cat within the city limits unless such dog or cat is licensed as provided in the division. 

Rabies Vaccination Required, Sec. 14-15  Fine $100.00
Owners of female dogs which are in heat shall keep them securely confined. Female dogs which are not properly confined and attract male dogs are hereby declared to be a nuisance and shall be impounded by the animal control officer. 

Certain animals declared nuisance, Sec. 14-11D  Fine $100.00
Any animal which disturbs the peace or quiet or endangers the repose or health of persons by biting or by frequent or habitual barking, howling or yelping, or which scratches or digs in or defecates upon any lawn, tree, shrub, plant, building or any other property, private or public, other than the property of the owner or person in charge or control of such animal, is hereby declared a nuisance. 
 
Owner, person in charge of animal not permit commission of nuisance, Sec.14-11B  Fine $100.00
No owner or person in charge or control of any animal shall allow or permit such animal to commit a nuisance on any public property or private property of another, nor shall such person allow or permit such animal to habitually bark, howl or yelp on the property of the owner or person in charge or control so that the peace and quiet of the neighbors is disturbed.
