Daytona Beach is known as the “World’s Most Famous Beach.” To retain this title, Daytona Beach has gone to great lengths to provide the public access to miles of pristine beach line. Breakers Oceanfront Park is one of the many ways Daytona Beach shares its beaches with the public.
Opened 2008, Breakers Oceanfront Park is located next to the Daytona Beach Pier and surrounding attractions and shops. The 2.5 acre park boasts a wide variety of activities and amenities. It is one of only three parks in the city that has its own beach access as well as a splash pool. Breakers Oceanfront Park offers the following:
Handicapped beach and pier access
Sand volleyball court
Environmental Learning Center
Breakers Oceanfront Park is open daily from dawn to dusk with limited hours on restrooms, splash pool and learning center.
Funding assistance for the $10 million project was provided by the City of Daytona Beach’s Community Redevelopment Area, Volusia County’s ECHO, Daytona Beach Racing and Recreation Facilities District, developer contributions, plus state and federal grants.
