The Redevelopment Division is primarily responsible for the creation, implementation and management of projects and programs in accordance with the policies and recommendations set forth in four community redevelopment plans that comprise five redevelopment districts. The five districts are:
The division provides staff support to the Community Redevelopment Agency (CRA), which sets policy and approves the budget and expenditures for each redevelopment trust fund. Division staff also support three Redevelopment Area Boards (RAB) that serve in an advisory role to the CRA, and the Downtown Development Authority (DDA), a special district established for the primary purpose to promote and improve the downtown area.
The city has dedicated funds for public infrastructure, residential and commercial grants and neighborhood enhancements within each of the districts. The staff works with neighborhood groups, businesses and the development community to improve the quality of life and create a positive environment for continued investment.
Each year the Community Redevelopment Agency produces an annual report to highlight accomplishments in redevelopment areas and to provide financial information. See the most recent annual report (PDF).
