Daytona Beach is a Purple Heart City

On Oct. 7, Daytona Beach Mayor Derrick Henry signed a proclamation declaring the City of Daytona Beach a Purple Heart City. This honors and acknowledges residents who were wounded or killed in armed combat.

The Purple Heart is the oldest U.S. military decoration that is still in use.
